Oh Joe, she's just so gosh darn cute. Golly!

Just a short entry here. Was that Tina Fey debating Biden last night? No? Fooled me.

Sarah did as well as I think anyone could have expected. Then again, not throwing up all over the stage doesn't qualify as mastery of the process. She proved what I posted yesterday; she's a master of the verbose non-answer, even at one point admitting it during the debate (really Republicans, this is what you want?). While much of the media focuses on her success in achieving mediocrity, I'd prefer to look briefly at Biden's performance.

Given Joe's propensity to go off topic and be, well, less than concise, he faced his own set of hurdles last night. Lost in the Palin critiques is the fact that Biden was masterful; his tone was perfect, he demonstrated vastly superior knowledge of every topic while maintaining an aura of congeniality. And folks, that's the real story of this debate. Sarah's cute (who winks at the camera?) but cute won't save your IRA or get Bin Laden.

We need adaptable, intelligent leaders to face the challenges left to us by the Bush Boondoggle. There was only one of those on stage last night and his name wasn't Sarah.

I'll wait a few days before I post again in order to monitor the public response. In the meantime, pay attention.

I think you are right in your characterization. She could have done just about anything and been given a pass. It is safe to say that she is no longer a laughing stock, just laughable. I add a smile and wink as well. Has any other forum included a candidate winking at the TV audience?

In American Politics it is a well believed philosophy that people vote for the top of the ticket and not the bottom.

Please consider the following information and determine for yourself if this is the election to consider what the bottom looks like.

This is the second longest period in American History where a Vice President has not had to assume the role of President. It has been 34 years since Gerald Ford took over for Richard Nixon. Amazingly, the longest period was our first. The first 8 Presidents all served their full terms and each outlived the average life expectancy of the time by mor than 20 years.

However, since William Henry Harrison forgoed his caot and died one month after his acceptance speech the following years have gone by before another Vice President assumed the Presidency. 9-18-16-16-22-22-18-9 and our current 34.

In phrasing it another way. We have had 43 Presidents. 38 of them were elected. After the first 8 served full terms the remaining 30 Presidents who have won election have had 9 of them not serve a full term.

Odds are building that it is time to consider looking at the bottom and asking "Can this person lead us?"
